Who says you have to break the bank to get active and have a blast? EventLab is currently offering FREE registration for some of the most popular 5K series in the country. Whether you want to get covered in mud, foam, or neon glow, here is everything you need to know to snag your spot.
The “Free” Catch (What’s Included)
While the registration fee itself is waived ($0 instead of the usual $40–$75), these are “un-timed” fun runs. When you sign up for a free entry, it typically includes:
- Race Admission: Your entry to the course and the post-race party.
- The Experience: Depending on the brand, this means mud obstacles, foam cannons, or color stations.
What is NOT included:
- Mandatory Insurance/Processing Fee: You will still have to pay a small fee (usually around $15–$20) at checkout for insurance and administrative costs.
- The Swag Bag: Free entries usually do not include the t-shirt, medal, or runner bib. You can often purchase these as add-ons if you want the gear!
- Parking: Most venues charge a separate parking fee (usually $10–$20 per car).
What to Expect
These aren't your typical, serious marathons. They are high-energy, family-friendly parties on the move.
- Muddy Dash: Expect miles of mud pits, slip-and-slides, and obstacles designed for teamwork.
- Bubble Run: Think “human car wash.” You’ll run through massive bogs of colorful foam (it’s 100% safe and non-toxic).
- Terrain Race: A more classic obstacle course race with walls, ropes, and—you guessed it—plenty of dirt.
- Blacklight Run / FoamGlow: These usually happen at night. You’ll wear white and get sprayed with glow water or powder that lights up under huge UV blacklights.
