Tired of scouring a dozen different city websites just to find out which movies are playing near you? I've done the legwork for you! I've rounded up the 2026 schedule for movies in the park across Utah so you can spend less time searching and more time enjoying family nights under the stars. Here is your ultimate, updated list of free outdoor cinema events.
Here’s a list of what movies are coming and where to see them. We will update as they become available.
Salt Lake County
Salt Lake City: Utah Film Center Outdoor Series
Note: The standard outdoor series has shifted venues from Liberty Park to Pioneer Park for the 2026 season with a music-centric lineup. Movies start at dusk.
- June 13 – Moulin Rouge! (25th Anniversary)
- July 11 – Dirty Dancing
- August 8 – Little Shop of Horrors
Note: Located at the Draper Amphitheater. Yard games, free giveaways, and free popcorn start at 8:30 PM. Movies begin at dusk (just after 9:00 PM).
- June 5 – Independence Day
- June 12 – Raising the Bar: The Alma Richards Story
- June 19 – Apollo 13
- June 26 – Field of Dreams
Note: Sandy has spread its events across multiple major community venues this year. Pre-movie activities start at 7:00 PM; movies begin at dusk.
- June 18 – Inside Out 2 (at Flat Iron Mesa Park – featuring a special appearance by the Utah Mammoth hockey team)
- July 22 – The Sandlot (at America First Field – America 250 Celebration night)
- August 24 – The Greatest Showman Sing-Along (at the Sandy Amphitheater)
Taylorsville: Starry Nights @ the Plaza
Note: Held at Centennial Plaza (in front of City Hall). Food trucks open at 5:30 PM, live music at 6:30 PM, and the movie begins at 9:00 PM.
- June 19 – Freakier Friday (featuring live music from Flynnz Arkade beforehand)
- July 17 – National Treasure (Interactive movie night hosted with the Taylorsville Library, complete with prop bags)
South Jordan: Movies in the Moonlight
- Free kickoff movie during the SoJo Summerfest (June 3–6) at South City Park.
- Weekly movies continue every Friday night from mid-June through mid-August over at Highland Park starting around dusk.
- Held at the Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center Park Pavilion and Chomper’s Cove. Pre-show activities kick off at 8:00 PM, and movies start at sundown. (Full title lineup releasing June 5 alongside their 99 Days of Summer calendar).
Magna: Music & Movie in the Park
Note: Held at Pleasant Green Park. Live local bands perform at 8:00 PM, followed by the movie at dusk.
- June 12 – Zootopia (Live music by Mel Soul & the Heartbeat)
- June 19 – Superman (Live music by Buster)
- June 26 – Lilo & Stitch (Live music by The Glitter Bombs)
- July 10 – How to Train Your Dragon (Live music by Drama Llama)
- July 17 – Hoppers (Live music by The Alpines)
- July 31 – Anaconda (Live music by Lionfish)
Millcreek: Venture Out! Friday Festivals & Movies
Note: Food trucks, artisan markets, and recreational activities start at 6:00 PM (June 19 starts at 5:00 PM). Movies begin at sundown.
- June 5 – Zootopia 2 (at Canyon Rim Park)
- June 12 – Minecraft (at Churchill Jr. High)
- June 19 – GOAT (at Big Cottonwood Regional Park – World Refugee Celebration)
- June 26 – Hoppers (at Evergreen Park)
- July 10 – Elio (at Scott Park)
- July 17 – The Princess Bride (at Tanner Park)
- July 31 – Super Mario Galaxy (at Moss Elementary)
Murray City: Movies in the Pool & Park
Note: Pool events require general admission ($2 resident / $3 non-resident). Movies start at 9:00 PM or dusk at The Park Center / Outdoor Pool.
- Friday, July 10 – Captain America (Pool Movie)
- Friday, July 31 – Lilo & Stitch (Pool Movie)
- Saturday, August 15 – Zootopia 2 (Pool Movie)
- Amphitheater Free Movie Night: Late July title date announcement coming shortly.
- Held at Holladay City Park at 9:00 PM. Schedule drops early June.
Riverton City: Friday Fun Nights & Town Days
Friday Fun Nights Series: Every Friday in August (Aug 7, 14, 21, 28) at Riverton City Park. Food trucks and vendors open at 5:30 PM; movies start at dusk.
Town Days Special: Friday, July 3 – Goat (at Riverton Park following the Town Days Parade at 9:30 PM).

Quick Essentials:
- Blankets or low-back lawn chairs
- Snacks & drinks (many venues allow outside food)
- Bug spray & sunscreen
- Flashlights or headlamps for walking back to the car
