I am just lucky. period. 🙂 I have yet to say anything lucky happened to me today, however 😛 But, our power didn’t go out today (like it has the past 2 days!), I woke up, I substitute taught today, all the kids were accounted for at the end of the day, I didn’t burn down my house making dinner, and my son didn’t break any bones while riding his motorcycle. Actually, thanks for reminding me to look for the positives in life. We very recently made a major move for my husband’s job, and I’m having a hard time adjusting. But I need to remember that my family is very lucky that he not only HAS a job, when hundreds of people at his former place of employment were let go this year and struggling to find new employment, but that its a higher paying job! Lucky, or blessed may be more accurate.

This past Saturday I was shopping at Winco. I was busy unloading all of my groceries out of the cart onto the belt when one of my kids said, “Mom there’s a fly in our bread!” I said, “Did you just say there is a fly IN our bread?” Sure enough, down in an air pocket at the bottom of the tightly closed package of bread was that little critter just flying around. The Winco checker, me and the kids were all stunned as to how it got in there. As we were leaving, we saw our checker walking around showing several other Winco employees the fly. So, I am lucky that we didn’t buy the FLY bread that day.
I can’t say I have much luck. I feel its more appropriate to say I’m thankful for my daughter and husband.
